Achieving Sustainable Development in Business: The Implementation of Environmental Management Practices by Small and Medium Enterprises

Over the past two decades, the issue of sustainability has received mixed opinions from people, especially in business world. The concept of Sustainable Development has slowly changing the view of modernisation and growth for worldwide development activities. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) tend to be opposed to the idea. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of Environmental Management Practices (EMP) among SMEs in Malaysia. Using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, this study employed barriers and motivations as an input, while sustainable development elements are taken as an output. Findings show that the implementation level of EMP varied among companies, which consequently influences their level of sustainable development. The implications of the finding are discussed based on the concept of Goal-Setting Theory to explain the nexus between the company’s ability to set the right environmental goals and employees’ understanding of the signals sent to support the company’s sustainable development.

Present day management in SMEs accepted that cash flow management as one of the most significant instruments for checking and controlling the typical working of the business. Business Model Canvas Effect Risk Management and Business Performance: SMEs in Rayong, Thailand

This research studied the relationship of business operations based on business elements of
Business Model Canvas that influenced the efficiency in risk management and the performance
of SMEs in Rayong province. The research is based on a Quantitative research methodology,
where data collection has been achieved through self- administered questionnaires. The statistical
results found that the Business Model Canvas influenced SMEs performance in Rayong.The
empirical data and correlation testing via Structure Equation Modeling in which found thatSMEs
businesses in Rayong had well business plan that covered all the nine aspects of Business Model
Canvas with the efficient risk management.Both led to the well Balance Scorecard performance
including the well business plan that would lead the business to have good risk management
efficiency. The risk management efficiency was the partial mediation from the Business Model
Canvas to the business performance result.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially their business risks and performance, are the primary economic drivers of the construction sector in Malaysia. Most studies focused on the performance of SMEs, but their business risks were underexplored. With that, the current study aimed to determine the elements of business risks that affect the performance of SMEs in the construction sector within the Malaysian context. For this study, five construction companies in different states were selected as case studies. Financial risk, government regulation, managerial capacity, delay in the project, and technology were identified as the critical elements of business risks that affect the performance of SMEs. Through the emerging new ventures in the business market, the performance of SMEs is undoubtedly one of the vital economic drivers that can boost the country’s economic growth.

The objective of implementing a model strengthening strategy is to collaborate with the government
and the private sector to work hand in hand in strengthening capital and increasing the MSME
production market to maintain economic stability. Researchers' research method, in this case, is a
combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches and methods.In general, qualitative research is
carried out by interview and observation methods. Through this method, researchers will analyze the
data obtained from the field in detail. Quantitative methods with graphs can be seen that there has been
a decline in several aspects, even some of the businesses are threatened with bankruptcy. This condition
shows that the data has decreased drastically, decreased turnover and credit financing, and difficulty
obtaining raw materials. When viewed from the data from the Ministry of Cooperatives in 2020. From
the study results, it can be argued that: Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, market
uncertainty has made the demand for goods sold by MSME players decreasing so that consumers' needs
change. Even though it is full of challenges, the MSME sector still has hopes and opportunities to
increase its business scale. To survive amid the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, MSMEs use a
strategic trading system to strengthen their capital.

Marketing is considered to be one of the most critical tasks for minor plus medium-sized enterprises in terms of growth as well as development, but it is also considered to be the biggest challenge for SMEs. Shortage of possessions, expertise and expertise, it is hard for SMEs to carry out traditional marketing activities. As a result, working in an atmosphere of aggregate dynamics, turbulence and competitiveness means that entrepreneurs with innovative creative concepts and attitudes, such as Entrepreneurial Marketing, have to overcome and modify conventional marketing principles (EM). When conventional marketing does not support small and medium enterprises (SME) then here is A new area of exploration that initiated by combination of marketing and entrepreneurship is Entrepreneurial marketing. The main purpose of this essay is the notion that can be found in literature like types, dimensions of Entrepreneurial marketing and major differences b/w Entrepreneurial marketing and conventional marketing. It also give a brief view about the history of basis of different new fields and in the last it focuses on the significance of small and medium enterprise with reference to the modern standard. The main objective of this study is to provide guideline to small and medium enterprises and give suggestion to them about future research direction in the same field.
