Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role and extent of the contribution of the oil industry to other sectors of the economy, as well as to track the impact of oil throughout all value chains until the production of the final product. In this paper, the authors analyzed the intersectoral and fuel and energy balance of the Russian Federation. Based on the comparison of these sources, the authors tracked the contribution of the oil industry to other industries and sectors of the economy. In contrast to the traditional approach, which takes into account only natural indicators, thanks to the combination of data from the intersectoral and fuel balances, the authors concluded that the role of the oil industry is also in value terms
